Accountability & Motivation

As your PT, I will hold you accountable. You have a set, paid appointment at which I will be there waiting for you with a smile on my face each and every time you show up. I will help you to not only develop your own personalised goals but to also develop a realistic and achievable plan to attain these goals. I will believe in you even when you are feeling at your lowest and don’t believe in yourself. “CAN’T” is not in a PT’s vocabulary.

Develop a Routine

Sure, it’s easy to get to the gym and jump on the cross trainer but then what?  I will provide you with the most effective ways to help you get to your fitness goals, working with you to develop a routine that makes sense and is realistic for you.  As your PT I will help you to maximize your time in the gym but not overwhelm you. All along the way on your journey, holding you accountable and providing motivation!

Solid, Consistent, Non-judgemental Support

Each hour you spend with me as your PT is an hour to focus on you and only you! I will provide consistent feedback to help you better yourself and achieve your goals.  We have all gone into the gym and worried about what we look like doing an exercise or compared ourselves to someone else. I will help you to see all of your successes, big and small, even when you can’t see them yourself.

Proper Technique & Form

Watching all the YouTube videos in the world and reading all the fitness magazines, does not substitute having a person by your side providing you with immediate feedback on form and technique. It is very easy to hurt yourself in the gym and I will cue both your mind and your body and help you achieve your goals more quickly by making sure you are doing each exercise correctly. Helping you develop better running form, improve your posture or increase your strength by teaching you to recruit the proper muscles and making a mind body connection.

Injury Prevention

Often people shy away from equipment in the gym because they are afraid of hurting themselves. Likewise, one may stop attending the gym due to an injury.  A Personal Trainer will teach you how to use equipment properly so that you do not injure yourself. I will also work with you to prevent injuries in everyday life by helping you increase your balance, flexibility, and core strength,  focusing on specific exercises that will benefit you based on your activities of daily living.

Maximize Workout/Minimize Time

You will burn more calories in less time when working with a PT. A trainer develops a program that is efficient and allows you to get the most in, in the shortest amount of time. If you are finding it hard to find time to workout, not only will I help you to get the most out of your work out, but teach you how you can do that on your own. At each session I will follow up with you to see if you achieved our workout goals for the week, holding you accountable to exercise on your own time and make tweaks to the program to help you be successful!

Personalised Program

Personal training is just that, PERSONAL! I will develop a program that is specific to you and your goals. If you have an injury, if you want to climb a mountain, if you want lose weight to become pregnant, have lower back pain… The program will be specific to you and only you! As your PT, I will hold you accountable to achieving the goals of that program!

Results

Working with a Personal Trainer will allow you to achieve the results that you cannot achieve on your own. Each person’s goals are extremely personal.  As a trainer, I work diligently with each of my clients to help them recognize their results, tangible and intangible, as well as results they never anticipated having. It is these results that not only hold you accountable to me, but they hold me, your trainer, accountable to you!

Facilities

PT sessions are held at 180 Fitness, Wharf Road, Retford . Here all sessions take place in one of the private PT ‘pods’ with access to an outdoor training space also. You don’t have to be a member of the gym to attend PT sessions at this location. Shower and changing facilities are available.
PT sessions can also take place in your home or work environment if this is your preference.

If you are new to using a gym, it can be daunting with all the equipment to choose from. I can show you how to get the most out of your workouts by utilising the machines, free weights, bands and your own body weight. All of which will provide you with the confidence to train on your own in between your PT sessions.

About Me

Fitness began as a hobby and became a real passion of mine, ultimately leading me to changing my job and becoming a PT.

I was an avid goer and the benefits of working out on a regular basis, including PT sessions, helped me in numerous ways. I felt fitter, stronger plus for me it was a great stress release. So, 6 years ago I followed my heart, I gave up my corporate job working in London and qualified to become a P.T.

Supporting clients on their fitness. Fitness began as a hobby and became a real passion of mine, ultimately leading me to changing my job and becoming a PT.

I like to focus on core strengthening with clients and improving range of movement and flexibility.

I continued my journey following my other passion and qualified as a RYT200 Yoga Teacher in 2018. I enjoy combining elements of my Yoga training with PT.

I truly believe that when you set & achieve your own fitness goals it gives you great strength, energy, and happiness in many other aspects of your life. I will give you the support and motivation to achieve your personal fitness and lifestyle goals with a focus on increasing healthy behaviours. Supporting clients on their fitness journey is so rewarding to me, seeing people progress not only physically but in their mindset also.

Anne-Marie is fantastic. I am genuinely a changed person, she has give me confidence in the gym and in myself. She has taught me technique to master the basic moves so that I can confidently tackle the more advanced equipment in the gym. I now have a toolbox full of exercises to easily fill an hour or more for each area of my body. Her sessions are engaging and motivational. You honestly could not ask for more.
